The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur presents i-KITES (Introduction to Technology, Engineering and Sciences) and RISE (Research and Innovation Summer Experience), two immersive programs designed to cultivate creators of knowledge and innovation. These programs aim to provide students with hands-on exposure to science and engineering, enabling them to discover concepts through practical learning while gaining their first experience of real scientific research. i-KITES focuses on introducing students to the fundamentals of technology, engineering, and sciences through interactive and experiential learning methods. RISE, on the other hand, offers a deeper engagement by allowing participants to explore research and innovation in a structured academic environment, giving them early exposure to real-world scientific inquiry. The programs are open to students who have completed Class 10 or 11 and demonstrate strong academic performance along with curiosity for learning. The application window is from 5th April to 18th April 2026. The program will run for a duration of 6 weeks, from 16th May to 26th June 2026, at IIT Kharagpur. Selected participants will receive fellowship support, including a stipend of ₹5,000 for the six-week program. Additionally, accommodation will be fully covered with a stay in IIT Kharagpur hostels.
